Why would I need a hallway chair?
Here at Sofology, we want to help you use every inch of your home; even the smallest details can make a big difference to your décor. That’s why we offer a stunning collection of hallway chairs, helping you transform a simple corridor into a cosy and welcoming reception area.
Maybe you’re looking for an easy way to add a colour contrast to your hallway walls. Or perhaps you’d like to create a cosy reading nook underneath the stairs. You might even simply want a comfy spot to put on your shoes before heading out. The right chair can make all the difference.
What’s the best type of hallway chair for my home?
The right hallway chair depends on the statement you want to make. For example, an accent chair is a brilliant choice for adding a pop of colour or a sculptural shape to an empty corner. It provides a chic, convenient perch without overwhelming the space.
Alternatively, if you’d like a more modern and playful feel, a swivel chair can be a great fit, especially in tighter spots where its movement adds a touch of functional fun. Then, for those with more space to spare, a loveseat completely redefines your hallway. It creates a cosy and elegant seating spot that makes the space feel less like a corridor and more like a room in its own right, offering a truly luxurious welcome.
Where should I position my hallway chair?
While we’re looking to make your hallway cosy and more inviting, you still want to ensure it remains a practical, easy-to-navigate space.
Position your chair against the wall of the hallway and ensure it doesn’t obstruct the opening of any doors. We’d also recommend avoiding placing the chair directly against a radiator, as the heat can affect certain fabrics and leathers over time, even if it does seem like the cosy choice in winter.
To ensure that the chair fits neatly into the floor plan, find the measurements on the specific product page and mark them out on the floor with tape. This lets you see how much space the chair will take up, without purchasing it first. As a general rule of thumb, you should aim to leave at least 90cm of clear space around the chair for a comfortable walkway.
