We join the Climate Coalition’s campaign to celebrate all we’re doing to tackle climate change.
Every February since 2015, thousands have taken part in the UK’s biggest conversation with the Climate Coalition about climate change. Community groups, schools, celebrities and people from all walks of life, have pledged to reduce their environmental impact and used their voices, social media accounts and events to demonstrate to the government just how many people want to see urgent action on climate change.
About the Climate Coalition
The Climate Coalition is the UK’s biggest group of people dedicated to action on climate change with over 100 members, and brings together people, businesses and organisations across the UK, including our PlanTree partners the Woodland Trust, to be a united voice on tackling climate change. Their work has resulted in landmark changes to curb emissions and tackle the issue.
#ShowTheLove is their annual celebration of everything we all love and want to protect from the worst impacts of climate change. And collectively on February 12th, we will flood social media with the good news about how we are all finding ways to tackle climate change in order to celebrate, encourage and inspire with our stories.
Whether it’s planting trees in partnership with the Woodland Trust, or the fact that all our stores are now powered by 100% green electricity, as a business we are tackling every area we can to make us more sustainable.
How we’re going to #ShowTheLove
On Valentine’s weekend, to really #ShowTheLove for our planet, we commit to planting 2 trees for every sofa order made between the 12th - 14th February. Planting trees, in conjunction with our partners the Woodland Trust and their funded tree packs for schools and community groups, is one of the best ways to tackle our climate crisis and is in addition to our ambition to be carbon neutral against direct activities through the Woodland Trust’s carbon scheme. We are just getting started and have lots more initiatives to work on but this is something that means a lot to everyone in our business. And in thanks for their support over the challenges of the last year, we will also pledge to plant a tree for every single one of our colleagues to #ShowTheLove this Valentine’s weekend.
