Giving back

We’re proudly particular about creating spaces where people can truly unwind - but we also know that a secure, comfy home isn't a reality for everyone. We’re passionate about charitable causes that provide life-changing support to families facing hardship, ensuring our contributions help to deliver comfort and security where it’s needed most.

Supporting Children in Need

No one should be without the basic household essentials required to create a home. That’s why we’ve partnered with BBC Children in Need, the UK’s most trusted children’s charity, to help tackle furniture poverty; a reality affecting up to 6 million people across the UK. All proceeds from our fundraising efforts, and our product donations, will go to the BBC Children in Need Emergency Essentials programme, which delivers sofas, tables, chairs, beds, and white goods to families living in crisis.

Every Sofology customer has the opportunity to donate to BBC Children in Need when placing an order, through our partnership with Pennies, the digital charity box. The money donated will go towards helping the Emergency Essentials programme provide much-needed home essentials to families in crisis across the UK.

We’re passionate about supporting our Sofologists to give back to local charity or community projects that are close to their hearts. Each year, we offer every Sofologist a Volunteering Day to support a cause they care about.

Families are living in furniture poverty today

Families are living in
furniture poverty today

Up to 6 million people are experiencing furniture poverty, meaning they lack the basic, essential items they need to feel safe, secure, and able to thrive. Families are living without the furniture we so often take for granted, like a bed, a sofa, a washing machine or an oven.

Currently, there are over 1 million children in the UK who don’t have their own bed. They have to share or sleep on the floor. Up to 1.1 million people are unable to afford a sofa or chairs for their home, so they have no place to rest and relax, or enjoy quality family time.

Helping families and children

Together with BBC Children in Need we’re giving more than just furniture. A bed is a place where a child can feel safe, warm, comfortable, and have a proper rest ready for school. A sofa gives a child the confidence to invite friends over, relax and be themselves. A table gives a family the chance to sit together to share a meal, connect and feel like a family.
