  • On delivery day, if your sofa is a tighter squeeze than expected and our team can’t quite get it in, please don’t worry. We’ll always arrange a second delivery attempt, free of charge, because sometimes a fresh perspective and a different approach is all that’s needed.

If the second attempt is also unsuccessful, our Customer Care team will personally get in touch. We’ll talk through all the possibilities to find a solution that works for you and your home.

  • Once you’ve double-checked your measurements, a few simple preparations can help make the delivery as smooth as possible.

Start by clearing a path from your front door to the room where your sofa will be placed. We’d also recommend moving any precious or delicate items, like lamps, picture frames, or vases, to a safe place. If you suspect a doorway might be a pinch point, taking the door off its hinges beforehand can make all the difference. To keep everyone safe during the delivery, we also find it helps to have any pets and small children settled in another room.

You can then leave the rest to us. Our expert delivery team will handle all the heavy lifting with the utmost care.

  • Navigating stairways and lifts is all about measuring the space. For stairs, pay close attention to the width at the narrowest point, as well as the ceiling height, especially on any turns. You’ll need enough clearance to tilt and pivot the sofa around corners or over a banister. If you live in a building with a lift, be sure to measure the internal height, width, and depth, not forgetting the height and width of the door opening.

While you take care of the measuring tape, you can trust our delivery team to handle getting your sofa up the stairs or into the lift on the day.

  • While most of our attention goes into making sure a sofa isn’t too big, getting the scale right is a key part of good design. A sofa that’s too small for a room can feel a little lost, making the space feel unbalanced and preventing it from having a clear, inviting focal point. More importantly, it might not offer the generous, comfortable seating your home deserves.

A great way to judge the scale is to map out the sofa’s dimensions on your floor with masking tape, giving you a true feel for how it fits in the room. If you find your chosen design is getting a bit swallowed by the space, you might want to think about picking a sofa with bigger dimensions. A 4 seater or a corner sofa could be a better fit, for example, creating a look that feels more balanced in your floor plan.
