In just 4 years of working at Sofology, Adam Diakowicz’s role has seen major progression. Through hard work, determination and living the Sofology values, Adam has been able to seize opportunities along the way to learn and take on additional responsibilities that have seen him work his way up from Warehouse Operative to Warehouse Supervisor.
We caught up with Adam to find out more about what it takes to make the most of internal progression opportunities, and what keeps him happy in his role at Sofology.
‘Tell us a bit about your role at Sofology.’
I started working at Sofology in October 2015, joining the team as a Warehouse Operative, based at the London Depot. I was always keen to progress and happy to take on any extra responsibilities, which kept me learning on the job. After 2 years in the role, all of that hard work paid off and I was promoted to Warehouse Team Leader. It’s obviously highly motivating to see your efforts come to fruition, which helped to drive me onwards and upwards into my current role of Warehouse Supervisor.
My job now involves the day-to-day management of the team, ensuring all KPIs are met and keeping deliveries running smoothly. I have a genuine passion for the work we do and it’s important to me that every delivery we make is correct and on time, every time. I think progressing through the company in the way that I have has given me unique insight into the way we work best, as well as a rounded skill set. I’m constantly challenged in my role - which I enjoy - and always keen to be the best. I strive to make sure Sofology is professionally represented whenever we make a delivery.
‘What does success look like to you?’
I enjoy new challenges and working with a variety of different people. Working with a team is a huge motivator to always strive to do better for the whole team. I think a job well done always deserves a word of praise. As simple as it sounds, it can be the best recognition anyone can get, and it goes a long way to keeping teams motivated and successful.
‘What’s your favourite thing about working at Sofology?’
I’m part of a strong and supportive team, with two team leaders helping me in my role. The people I work with are the main reason we manage to do such excellent work - they’re people that are committed and care about great customer service. The team I work with are always willing to go the extra mile for both the customer and their fellow Sofologists, and it makes me really proud to be working here.
I’ll always be grateful for the help and support of many Sofologists for my progression in the company. They’ve offered me guidance, support and advice every day and I’m appreciative of the help they’ve given me.
I love working at Sofology, and I’m proof that, with the right attitude and values, this company offers a genuine opportunity for anyone to develop and progress.
