2025 marks five amazing years of us planting trees, in partnership with the Woodland Trust. Planting trees is one of the best ways to tackle our climate crisis. To be carbon neutral by 2050, the UK needs 1.5 billion new trees (that’s 50 million trees a year!) PlanTree can help us make a real difference, supporting the Woodland Trust in their efforts to restore our native woodlands and protect wildlife habitats.
Thanks to our customers' support, we’ve planted more than 500,000* trees in partnership with the Woodland Trust in the last five years! During that time, we’ve donated almost £1 million toward its Free Trees Initiative and Official Woodland Carbon Scheme – supporting the creation of accessible green spaces, the restoration of irreplaceable native woodland, and the protection of vital wildlife habitats.
We always make sure that our prices are fair, so, whatever time of year you shop you’ll get the best price we can offer. That’s why, in 2019, we first decided to turn Black Friday green and celebrate with a deal that would benefit the whole planet by planting trees for every order. We partnered with the Woodland Trust and planted almost 2 hectares of new woodland, thanks to our customers! The success led to a permanent reforestation initiative with the Woodland Trust and PlanTree was created.
Between 2020 and 2022, we planted over 42,000 trees across the UK through the Woodland Trust’s Official Carbon Scheme, trees that will sequester more than 9,600 tonnes of carbon over their lifetime. And through our support of the Trust’s Free Trees Scheme, we’ve helped provide nearly 485,000 trees to schools and community groups nationwide, ensuring that everybody has the opportunity to plant a tree, connect with nature, and make a lasting impact.
