Sustainable timber sourcing
Our goal is that all of our sofas will be FSC®-certified.
If you’ve seen our Plan Tree scheme you’ll know that we’re passionate about protecting this planet’s forests. We’re working to ensure that none of our timber sources contribute to deforestation and ask that all of our suppliers comply with our Timber Sourcing Policy. We closely monitor and report on our supply chains to ensure continuous improvement and our goal is that all of our sofas will be FSC®-certified by 2025.
We will never use timber from:
- any species listed on the three CITES Appendices
- forests managed or harvested in violation of traditional or human rights
- forests with high conservation values where harvesting negatively impacts on those values
- natural tropical rainforests or dry zone forests unless they are FSC® or PEFC certified
Look out for the FSC® logo on our FSC®-certified products.

Sustainable leather sourcing
We are committed to sourcing 100% of our leather from suppliers that can prove their supply chain does not cause deforestation in the Amazon or elsewhere.
Natural leather is beautiful and hard-wearing, making it the perfect choice for sofa upholstery. We pride ourselves on always using real, natural leather on every part of every one of our leather sofas, as there is no substitute version that can offer the same feel or long-lasting quality. As a responsible retailer we also recognise the negative impact that leather sourcing can have on the environment and we ask that all of our suppliers comply with our Leather Sourcing Policy.
All leather used in Sofology products must:
- come from animal skins which are a by-product of the meat industry
- not be obtained from aborted or live animals or from endangered species (including any species listed on the three CITES Appendices)

A new life for your old furniture
From soft supple leather to warm cosy fabric, the feeling of relaxing on a brand new sofa is hard to beat. But what about your old sofa? It’s served you well over the years, kept you comfy as you’ve relaxed, but now it’s time to let it go. Our SofaRescue services allows you to give your old sofa a new lease of life. In partnership with Clearabee, we’ll collect it then take it to a processing centre to be repurposed and recycled, avoiding landfill.

A new life for your old sofa
Each year thousands of unwanted sofas end up in landfill, wasting resources and harming the environment. That’s why we’ve introduced Sofa Rescue.
Working with our partners Clearabee, we can provide a service to ensure that your old sofa gets a new life by removing and responsibly disposing it via one of our approved recycling centres across the country. This guarantees that as much of your sofa will be recycled as possible, diverting it from landfill.
It’s easy to add Sofa Rescue to your order and arrange for your old sofa to be collected up to 5 days before your new sofa arrives.
