International Men’s Day 2021
Celebrating our super powers with Oldham College
The 19th November sees us celebrate International Mens’ Day at Sofology - marking this global day where people come together to celebrate men and boys in all their diversity.
The core themes for the UK International Men’s Day involve discussion around making a positive difference to the lives and wellbeing of men and boys as well as promoting positive conversations about men and masculinity and raising funds and awareness for charities who support men and boys’ wellbeing.
At Sofology, as we did with International Women’s Day, we wanted to celebrate our colleagues and highlight the qualities that they bring to our business, championing their individual strengths by asking them 'what is your SUPERPOWER?’
Here some of our male colleagues share what they consider to be theirs - giving us a chance to highlight to everyone their super power and celebrate their unique strength.
The core themes of International Men’s Day help to address some of the issues that affect men and boys - including the challenges faced by them in education and work. In addition, to promote International Men’s Day and support Oldham college with its diversity agenda, our Sofology colleagues are taking their students through the potential progression and career paths that retail may offer them, sharing their career experiences and learnings.
Some of our male leaders from across the Sofology business will share a variety of avenues to higher careers in the world of retail through a series of talks, question and answer sessions and supporting students with CV and interview skills.
